Ambassador Emre Yunt was born in Ankara in 1962, completed his primary, secondary and high school education at TED Ankara College and graduated from the Department of Public Administration at Middle East Technical University.

He entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1985.

He worked in the Cyprus Department, Personnel Department, American Department and European Union Relations Departments at the center.

He served as the Deputy Director General of the European Union Accession Process, responsible for the conduct of Türkiye-EU accession negotiations between 2007-2009.

He served as the Director General of Multilateral Economic Affairs between 2013-2017, organizing and coordinating the activities of Türkiye’'s G-20 Term Presidency (December 2014-November 2015).

He served abroad at the Consulate General in Chicago, the Embassy in Tehran, the Embassy in Washington and the Embassy in Beijing.

He served as the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Doha between 2009-2013 and as the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Stockholm between 2017-2022.

He worked as the Coordinator Ambassador in the Support Center established in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after the earthquake on February 6, 2023.

He served as the Gaziantep Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from November 15, 2023 to May 1, 2025.

He started his duty as the Consul General of Deventer as of May 1, 2025.

Ambassador Emre YUNT is married and has one child.
