Dear fellow citizens,

Dear members of the Turkish community in the Netherlands,

I assumed my duties as the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Deventer on 1 October 2026. It is an honour and a pleasure to undertake this responsibility.

Together with my colleagues, I will make it a priority to safeguard the rights and interests of our citizens and to provide efficient and prompt consular services. I would also like to emphasise on this occasion the importance we attach to ensuring that our citizens can reach our Consulate General easily whenever they need to.

We will make every effort to strengthen the ties between our Consulate General and our citizens living within the consular district, which comprises the provinces of Overijssel, Gelderland, Groningen, Drenthe, Friesland and Limburg.

We wish to further develop our relations with local authorities, the business community, universities, educational and cultural institution and civil society organisations in our consular district.

I believe that we must work together to further strengthen the position of the Turkish community in the Netherlands. While preserving our traditions, customs and shared values, we should attach great importance to education to enable our citizens to play a more active role in all areas of society and particularly to ensure the success our youth.

It is our shared responsibility to enable our young people to contribute more actively and support the inclusive activities of our civil society organisations in our consular district.

We will make every effort to meet with our citizens whenever possible, to listen to their views, suggestions and expectations and to contribute to further strengthening our unity and solidarity.

I would particularly like to emphasise that the doors of our Consulate General are open to our citizens, our friends and everyone who wishes to contribute to the further development of relations and cooperation between Türkiye and the Netherlands.

You can follow our activities and latest announcements through our website and social media accounts.

On this occasion, I extend my warmest greetings and regards to you all.

Işınsu Topcuoğlu

Consul General
