No: 97, 02 April 2018, Press release regarding the press statement of the Greek Prime Minister’s Office
The rhetoric reflected in the press statement of the Greek Prime Minister’s office issued yesterday (1 April) regarding the two Greek soldiers currently held in custody for illegally crossing our border, demonstrates that the Greek authorities have started to increasingly lower the level of discourse against Turkey. These remarks, which are not in line with governmental responsibility, cause great concern.
When it suits its interests, Greece brings the principle of rule of law to the fore. However, when it does not, Greece has no qualms about totally disregarding this principle by not even implementing the international courts’ verdicts. Recent history reveals this.
